America's Largest System of Higher Education Proposes Political Litmus Tests

In March 2022, the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office announced a policy proposal that would formally establish '“DEI competencies” as a condition for promotion, tenure and evaluations. “If it passes, the largest system of higher education in the country will require its faculty to demonstrate their commitment to today’s narrow orthodoxy.” The California Community Colleges system serves nearly 2 million students across 116 community colleges.
