Following recent events at Harvard, Sam Lessin ’05 has launched an urgent bid to serve on the Harvard Board of Overseers. In order to get on the 2024 ballot, he needs to run for Overseer as a petition candidate. You can learn more about Sam, what he stands for, and how to add your name to the petition, at samforoverseer.com. Signatures are due by 5p ET on January 31st.
“In light of the evolving situation on Harvard's campus and the administration's abysmal response, I want to join the Harvard Board of Overseers to help Harvard move forward.
I know many alums think that Harvard is a lost cause. But deep down…I actually believe in the power of institutions, including the power and importance of Harvard…
Walking away isn’t the answer. Instead, I want to be an active part of the solution… I have the space, bandwidth, and drive to do it.”
-Sam Lessin

He is a two-time member of the Forbes 'Midas' Seed List of the 25 best seed investors after seeding some of the most successful and iconic companies of the last two decades. Sam graduated from Harvard magna cum laude in Social Studies and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
We look forward to talking with Sam about the current state of Harvard and higher education, why he wants to serve as an Overseer, his ideas on what alumni, students, faculty, and others can do to support Harvard’s motto, Veritas, and more.
Our conversation with Sam will include a moderated portion followed by a Q&A with attendees. This free, online event is open to all Harvard alumni and affiliates, so please invite your fellow alums and others in the Harvard community to join us.
